Junior Section:
WINNER
Bee In Garden by Amber Jordan
The Judges Said:
Beautiful, arresting and unusual, this stunning photo by Amber captures the expression on the face of a bee in fabulous detail and must have required a huge degree of patience and skill. A very, very, difficult photo to take – Amber is obviously one to watch.
RUNNER UP
Cormorant by William Sullivan
The Judges Said:
William has captured a moment of peace in a busy Cormorant’s life. Beautifully framed and balanced, the ripples in the water are also photographed beautifully. Fantastic work.
Adult Section:
WINNER
Wasps Drinking by Phil Kirk
The Judges Said:
This stunning shot required a significant skill set and demonstrated a high level of technical difficulty, dealing with small distances. The subject matter is a tricky one as wasps are ever-moving and will not conform to a standard shot. The shot is also aesthetically pleasing in both colour and symmetry. A fascinating photograph and full of detail.
RUNNER UP
Waxwing Feeding by Tony Dunn
The Judges Said:
Again, a high degree of technical difficulty, this is a beautiful shot which captures the perpetual motion of a moving bird perfectly and in every detail. Quite mesmerising.
