Tincklers Lane to St Marys, Eccleston
After a few quiet days birdwise it was nice to see a bit of movement today with 3 small flocks of Fieldfare totaling 90+ birds all heading South, the weather is turning colder over the next week so I suspect we'll start seeing some decent sized flocks shortly. A male Mandarin was on the river also the juve Goldeneye and a Kingfisher, at least 80 Mallard there too. Also c35 Redwing, 20+ Goldfinch, 3 Buzzards and finally as I came around a corner in the footpath I surprised a Sparrowhawk eating a Wood Pigeon, most of the breast had gone so I suspect the Sparrowhawk had been feasting for some time.
