Lots of young birds around this week - at least 6 House Sparrows have fledged from nest boxes in my garden or from under the eaves and today $ Starling fledged from a nest in the eaves. There have been 2 young Blackbirds around all week an yesterday 1 possible young Greenfinch.
There is a male Common Whitethroat singing in the area behind my back garden - it came within 6 feet of me earlier as I was doing some gardening, but the best news is that a Hobby has flown swiftly across the middle of the former quarry from the White Coppice direction towards the M61 5 minutes ago.
Hobby gives me 124 species in the Chorley Natural History Society area.
I nearly forgot - I watched the Peregrine leave the top of Morrison's chimney at lunchtime, it flew several circles to gain height and then flew off towards the town centre.
Great Knowley Birds etc
