Garden species

Birds back after feeding suspended to deter brown rats -though they and grey squirrels still around(!)

Wren singing -others -blackbird(3); blue tit (4), long tailed tit (4), great tit (2); greenfinch (3 including 1 juvenile); goldfinch (4); bullfinch (3 including 1 Juv); magpie (2); wood pigeon (3);Carrion crow (2); house sparrow (4);nuthatch (first for 2 months); robin; dunnock;sparowhawk (evidence of at least two kills).
Over -buzzard(3), house martin (6+).
Butteflies-peacock, large and small white,small tortoiseshell, meadow brown.

Other insects-common carder, buff tailed bumblebees, patchwork leafcutter bee, honeybee; at least ten species of hoverfly.
Amphibians: frog -one year and younger as well
Mammal -mole (+ rodents)

Tawny Owl hooting in the woods for the last few nights.

Red Admiral. Peacock 2. Large White 2-3

A couple of Pipistrelles around the house last night were the first I've seen this year.
Swift, House Martin and Greenfinch over this afternoon. Large White was the only butterfly in the garden which was disappointing.

Peacock 2. Speckled Wood 2. Comma. Holly Blue. Large White 2-5.

Brown Hawker dragonfly, another dragonfly hunting along the edge of the adjacent woods was possibly a Southern Hawker but too far away for a positive ID.

Swallow 4 and Buzzard overhead.
