Early start intending to walk around Belmont Reservoir, but the valley was covered in mist, so I parked up at Horden Stoops and walked over Will Narr, Spitlers Edge and Redmonds Edge to limestone Brook and then returned.
Birds seen/heard - 4 Lapwing, several Curlew heard & 2 seen, 2 Redshank heard, possible Golden Plover heard. Lots of Meadow Pipits, 12+ Skylark, 1 Stonechat (m), 2 Reed Bunting (m), 1 Grey Heron over, 2 Twite seen/heard with possibly another 2 seen later, 1 male Wheatear seen.
Also Cuckoo heard from the Hempshaws area.
Flora - Lots of Hares-tail Cotton Grass.
