Eccleston , Bradley Hall farm , river yarrow to st marys church , around the farm several house sparrow , heard great spotted woodpecker , adult pied wagtail with youngster , great tit feeding young ( nesting 5 foot off the ground in a farm building ) , across the fields a pair of coot had 2 young on a pond also moorhen , along the river blackcap , whitethroat and lesser whitethroat were in song , only 6 sand martin seen , several mallard , female goosander with 5 small young , a single curlew was on a large mown field , 2 lapwing and starlings on a nearby field , single buzzard , found a carrion crow nest with 3 large chicks ready to leave the nest , great spotted woodpecker heard near to the church , around 10 canada geese feeding on the open fields , great tit using nest box near to the flood defence , stock dove and 2 pied wagtail on a manure pile , grey wagtail on the yarrow , and finally a shelduck was bit of a surprise on the river .
