Birding not the easiest in blustery conditions at Wymott this morning. Clocking up 50 bird species I considered a result. I detected only 1 Reed Warbler singing next to Ridley Lane,
The usual Lesser Whitethroat wasn’t rattling away. Must have been hunkered down somewhere. I did find another singing in a hedgerow at the back of the Whimbrel field along the public footpath.
Surprisingly through the racket of rustling trees I could just make out the reeling Grasshopper Warbler close to the old landfill site entrance. There were lots of Bird’sfoot Trefoil on the edges of Ridley Lane but no butterflies about today.
