Lunt Meadows American Golden Plover

Post by John Frankland »

My first visit to this fantastic little reserve on the edge of Liverpool.

2 American Golden Plover seen included one which showed very well and another which popped its head up from behind a mound. A first (and second, I suppose !) for me.

Also 2 Ruff, 2 Wigeon, 2 Pochard, 1 Sparrowhawk and Shoveler, Teal, Snipe , Pink footed Geese, Lapwing and other common species.

Missed them this morning as they'd been flushed by a Marsh Harrier (they are now back!!!) but made up for it with the Red Necked Phalarope at Marshside (which Neil was set to hopefully enjoy when we bumped into him).
