BREEDING LAPWINGS

As part of the Bio-diversity Action Plans for both Lancashire and North Merseyside and in conjunction with both Lancashire Wildlife Trust and the RSPB, a survey of the numbers of breeding Lapwings is scheduled to take place this year.

113 x 1km squares have been randomly selected from the area of the Lancashire plain south of the Ribble, excluding urban areas. Each 1km square is to be surveyed just once in the maximum period of incubation, which in our area is March 29th to April 21st 2002.
