NOISE LEVELS UP?
A Whitethroat in song was a welcome addition to A6 wildlife records. Despite road works and regularly passing vehicles, it was singing from a large hawthorn which overlooks the two green belt fields in north Adlington between Amec and Rigshaw Lane.
Like many people interested in Duxbury Woods and other conservation issues in Chorley, I have been reading the wealth of case documents (some of them at least!), and attending the Local Plan Review Enquiry. We await the Inspector's Report early next year.
Technical studies of the possible link road scheme give figures for the predicted traffic noise. It is intriguing to find that noise level figures include birdsong. Have any fellow naturalists noted that songbirds may express their protest in increased decibels?
