MILLENNIUM BOOKLET FUND
The sale of the booklet (published last July, reprinted 2 months ago and still available from your local bookstore!) has produced a substantial profit. The booklet was funded by grants from "Awards for All" and from Chorley Borough Council. The terms of the grants stated that any profits should be used to the benefit of wildlife within the local area.
Specifically we must use the fund to increase public awareness of wildlife in the Chorley area.
The committee has discussed possible ways of utilising this fund, and indeed has already made a small disbursement. Before proceeding further we would welcome any suggestions from members as to the best ways of using the fund.
Please contact me, or any other committee member, if you have any suggestions to offer. Funding members’ bird watching holidays to the Bahamas is almost certainly not an option!
Whilst many society members have helped with the sale of booklets, I would particularly like to register the committee’s thanks to our Treasurer, Stan Llewellin, without whom booklet sales would have been much reduced. His efforts are responsible for creating the bulk of this fund.
