Rivington Terraced Gardens Survey Request
I received this in an e-mail from Jon Kedwards (jon.kedwards@groundwork.org.uk). Some Forum users may be interested.
The Rivington Terraced Gardens near Rivington Pike/Lever Park are an amazing but crumbling local gem, much loved by the public but in a perilous condition.
Groundwork is working with the Rivington Heritage Trust develop a proposal to improve the Gardens. We\'re resubmitting a bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund shortly, and need your help!
We know lots of local people want to be part of their future. We want to make sure that people who want to get involved with the gardens can take advantage of this opportunity.
We need people who love the gardens to complete our short survey about how they might get involved. You can find it at http://tinyurl.com/rivington

Bird Survey request
I have receievd the following e-mail from Alison Greggor with e-mail alg61@cam.ac.uk. It should be self-explanatory:
Subject: [local bird survey]
As part of a research team at the University of Cambridge, we are running an online survey to better understand how people influence the distribution of birds across gardens in the UK. We would greatly appreciate if you could invite your members and/or those who frequent your website to participate in our survey.
Survey questions should take no longer than 10-15 minutes and ask about the activities of birds in participant\'s gardens. No personal information other than postal code and age range will be collected. It would be of tremendous help to us if you could distribute the following link:
www.surveymonkey.com/s/corvid_perceptions
Please let us know if you have any additional questions or would like to know more about our research.
Thank you in advance,
Alison Greggor

Photo Competition for members.
On 13th December we have our last meeting of 2012.
This is to be a Members' Evening with a few short presentations by members, a quiz, and hopefully a photo competition.
Any members wishing to enter the competition - which will be entirely anonymous so no need to be shy - please send me up to 3 pictures. Subject matter can be natural history or local landscapes.
/>secretary@chorleynats.org.uk
Any non-members who use the Forum and wish to enter can of course do so - but only if you join the society first. There is still time!
